Suzzann Cantrell, a former cosmetologist of 35 years, made a bold career change at 52 by earning her CMA degree with an associate. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, she moved to Florida in 2019 with her husband Stephen and their son Spencer, who has Down syndrome and is the joy of their lives. After relocating, the pandemic led her to shift away from the medical field, eventually leading her to work at the Sponge Docks. There, she connected with Ashley, Brock, and Brody, and together they became actively involved in local disability advocacy, inspired by their previous experiences with the Buddy Walk and Special Olympics in Kansas City.
